Grelle Recreation Area - Spicewood
Grelle is a nice little gem out in the general Muleshoe / Pace Bend area. While not as long or as challenging as the others in the area, it is surprisingly remote and you probably won't see the typical crowds that you do in the other more popular areas. The trail is generally easy to ride, in most cases it is probably even a bit boring for expert riders, but if you have a friend, child or spouse that is just getting into the sport, this is a place for both of you to ride together. There aren't a lot of technical features but there were a few spots where I dismounted because I was literally the only one in the park and it was my first time there.

Review - Smith Venture Helmet
I wanted to like this helmet, I really did. It had an awesome price point ($110) and MIPS protection. I've used other Smith products in the past, and they have always been quality, whether I am on the slopes or the trails. However, this helmet fell down in use and it literally only made it around the block before I circled back to the garage, took it off and put on my old one. I so wanted to be wrong.

Review - Schwalbe Big Ben Tires
Let's face it, we all love to ride on the trails, but there comes a time when you need to hit the pavement. Maybe it is COVID-19 that keeps you from hitting the dirt and maybe it is your commute to work that requires you to be on the streets, but if you have to hit them, then you really need a good set of rubber under you and the Schwalbe Big Ben is a great tire for hitting the streets and taking on the crap that sits in your way.

How to Lever Bleed Shimano Brakes
Over time, hydraulic brakes will eventually start to give out on you. You'll probably notice that the first time that you grab them in the morning you can probably get the lever all the way back to the grip. You give it a couple of strong pulls and pretty much everything is back to normal. So you don't need to do anything, right? Wrong!
All hydraulic brakes will need to be bled over time. The good news is, for Shimano, the process is so simple that you can do it quickly. I was able to bleed two XT brakes this morning in about 5 minutes; here is a handy visual guide to walk you through the process.
