Flat Rock Ranch is located out in Comfort, Texas and it's a perfect place to ride if you like technical trails, long climbs and sweeping downhill runs. Flat Rock Ranch is the location for many of the national as well as regional race events. It's not open throughout the year, I think that they close for the fall hunting season but open up after the start of the new year. Be sure to call first, you can reach them at 830-995-2858 or 210-213-3006 in the evenings.

Originally Flat Rock had a large climb right at the beginning (first 1.8 miles) but has recently been re-routed so that you hait that point around 6 or 7 miles in. There is a fair amount of climbing, but nothing that is too difficult - well, maybe 1-2 steep ups. Most of the climbs are swithchbacks and well laid out. The good news is that once you get to the top, you get to descend!
